The RD Fishing’s fishing fleet counts
  • 102 vessels – 18 catchers, 8 reefer carriers, 17 fish carriers,
  • 49 Ranger/Light Boats, 1 Tanker, 1 Tugboat and
  • 8 other support vessels.
The combined fishholding capacity of the fleet’s superseiners ranges from 450 to 1,200 metric tons; while the reef carriers have a maximum capacity of 2,400 metric tons.

RD Prawn and Hatchery is the source of richly-cultivated prawns for export, primarily to the Japanese market.

There are four pond sites occupying a total of 90 hectares, with each site producing 50 to 75 tons of prawns per culture.

Also being cultured is Cobia or Sergeant fish, much sought after in Japan and the United States. The breeders are kept in inland ponds… and the fingerlings are transferred to fish cages in the sea where they are raised under optimum conditions.

An average of 20 tons of cobia fish are harvested monthly..

RD Cattle Ranch, For the past 15 years, the RD Cattle Ranch has been raising high-grade American Brahman cattle in a 500-hectare property in Tambler. The ranch provides the local market with top quality beef. The facility also raises goats and sheep.

Its durian farm in Polomolok, South Cotabato yields 18 tons yearly of some of the finest varieties of the exotic durian fruit.

The first state of the art and only one of its kind in Mindanao, the shipyard has two floating dry-docks with a combined lifting capacity of 5,000 dead weight. Occupying an 85,000 square meter area, the yard is now into full scale shipbuilding and repair.

The company is envisioned to be the leader in ship design and construction, and specialized maintenance and repair, in the region.

The RD Manufacturing Group is spearheaded by the Philbest Canning Corporation, a tuna processing plant located in Barangay Tambler, General Santos City. It is looked up to by the community as a major source of employment, growth and development. Philbest is a holder of ISO 9001:2000 certification.

The cannery produces two varieties of canned tuna products – 307 for retail and 603 for food service products. With a manufacturing capacity of 150 metric tons per day, the plant employs more than 1,500 residents in the area.

The scheduled expansion of tuna pouch will bring the total capacity to 200 metric tons. The other tuna cannery is located in Madang, Papua new Guinea with daily capacity of 140 MT, employing 3,500 Papua New Guineans.

The 3rd cannery, the Celebes Canning Corporation is located in Gen. Santos City with a capacity of 100metric tons daily.

The bulk of the products are exported worldwide, with the United States and Europe as the biggest markets.

Allied Pacific Packaging Solutions Corporation produces top of the line packaging and printing materials primarily for RD’s manufacturing and food processing groups and external.

RDEX processes and trades export-grade shrimps, silver mackerel, skipjack, cobia and yellowfin tuna for the export markets. Its state-of-the-art processing facilities can process 20 tons of raw materials daily.

RDEX runs two processing plants and two cold storage facilities with a combined capacity of over 5,000 metric tons a day. It caters to the requirements of local fish canneries as well as several multinational chicken integrators.
The main export markets of RDEX products are the United States, Japan and South Korea (also aiming at the OIC or Middle East .markets.

Testimony to the stability of the RD business interests is the sound operations of its financial group, bannered by the Peninsula Rural Bank, Inc. One of the best-managed and stable banks based in Mindanao, PenBank provides excellent
and reliable services for countryside development.

Established in 1981, it has grown into a network of 22 branches nationwide (dont mention no. of branches, just place it on the screen for easy edit); offering agricultural, commercial, industrial, salary and real estate loans and vehicle financing, along with regular banking services.

PenBank is one of the few fully-computerized rural banks in the Philippines.
The Celebes Insurance Agency handles the non-life insurance requirements of the RD Group.

The RD Credit Corporation is making its mark in the financing and lending business, offering quick and easy schemes and low interest rates.
With branches spread out in strategic towns and cities in Mindanao, RD Credit offers real estate and chattel mortgage loans, salary loans and check rediscounting.

RD Pawnshop, Inc., which grew out of the original business of the Riveras, is now one of the fastest growing pawnshop chains in the country. Known for excellent customer service and low interest rates, RD Pawnshop now counts 401 branches (dont mention number of branches, just place it on the screen for easy edit) all over the archipelago.

It has spun-off a new business, RD & Company Jewelers and Gemologists, which is into hand-crafting and selling fine jewelry.

RD Realty and Development Corporation is engaged in subdividing, trading, leasing, developing and managing real estate properties. It is involved in construction, hotel and resort management, and operation of a shopping mall.

Richmond Land Innovation, Inc. launched La Cassandra, the newest subdivision to rise in General Santos City. Its main attraction is the promise of better and peaceful living as depicted in its slogan “Quality Homes for a Better Tomorrow.
